Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a great location to learn. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador who promotes education about children with diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her career and love of cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
